A clearer comparison

Know what you’re comparing.

Good decisions need clear information. This is the standard we’re building into CaravanScout from the start.

Every model has a context.

Specifications should identify the manufacturer, model year, variant and configuration they describe. We keep the original source and the date it was last checked alongside the record. A “source checked” label means a source was reviewed; it is not a certification of a caravan or its suitability.

Unknown means unknown.

We display “Not confirmed” or “Not supplied” for missing measurements, prices and weight figures. We do not use a different variant’s data to fill the gaps. Before making a purchase, check the current information with the manufacturer or dealer.

Start with established demand, then exact variants.

Our first research phase covers compact, hybrid, off-road, couples, bunk and family layouts. We use Australian brand-search interest as one prioritisation signal, then select variants with useful public documentation. Retain Media’s Q2 2026 reportmeasures brand searches, not model sales. Our ordering is not a best-seller ranking.

Research drafts show their limits.

Each profile links to manufacturer pages and, where available, brochures or dealer cross-checks. Every populated core specification has a source note. Matching pages can share a data feed, so agreement is not independent measurement. Conflicting revisions, optional sleeping positions and approximate weights stay visible. A page’s retrieval date is never used as its model year.

Research drafts remain excluded from search indexing until editorial review. The preview itself is also excluded. Catalogue covers are typographic placeholders while approved model photography is pending; generated category and travel imagery is illustrative.

Build coverage in phases.

  1. Document the first cross-category models, with field-level sources and outstanding checks.
  2. Resolve revision and configuration gaps; expand established-brand coverage toward a 30–50 model pilot.
  3. Add deeper specification filters, approved photographs and editorially reviewed profiles.
  4. Broaden brand coverage and review source changes before each publication update.

Commercial content should be clear.

If paid placements or commissioned content are introduced, they should be identified as such. Payment should not buy a better editorial verdict or be presented as a better match for your needs.

Comparisons are a starting point.

A comparison table helps organise information. It does not certify towing suitability. Use current manufacturer documentation and qualified advice for the exact caravan, tow vehicle and loaded configuration.

Keep the questions practical.

Our guides link to supporting sources and show when they were updated. They help you gather information and ask useful questions.
